December 6th was our dear teacher Walter Levin's 85th Birthday! Celebration concerts were held in Berlin with some of his former students. To play a concert at the Berlin Philarmonie dedicated to him was really special for us. Check below the text we wrote for him at the celebration program.
Thanks again, Professor Levin, and Happy Birthday!!!
"Passion. Commitment. Honesty. A constant and methodical search for the possible truth. An insatiable desire of knowledge in music. A true respect for the musical text. An integrity which is precious, rare, extraordinary and that trascends the musician to meet the citizen, the man. Professor Levin's legacy is, to us, all that, if not more. With his words, his gestures, his questions, his outbreaks against nonsense, his incredible sharp wit, Walter Levin gave us the most precious gift one can be rewarded with as a young student: planting firmly on us the perennial seed of Curiosity. Our gratitude will remain alive in us forever in the shape of our words, our attitude towards life and mostly, our music.
Professor Levin: Thanks and Happy Birthday!! And as you would say: "Well... Bravo!!"
